Banzaar

Terms of Service

Last updated: July 5, 2026

1. Acceptance of terms

By creating an account, accessing, or using the Banzaar platform (“Platform”), mobile application, or any associated services, you (“User”, “you”, “your”) agree to be legally bound by these Terms & Conditions (“Terms”).

If you are using Banzaar on behalf of a business, you represent that you have the authority to bind that business to these Terms, and “you” refers to both you personally and that business.

If you do not agree to these Terms, you must not create an account or use the Platform.

These Terms apply to all categories of users:

  • Buyers — individuals who browse and purchase products
  • Vendors / Sellers — individuals or businesses that list and sell products
  • Employees — staff added to a Vendor's business account
  • Admins — Banzaar staff who manage and moderate the Platform

2. Eligibility

To use Banzaar you must:

  • Be at least 18 years of age (or the legal age of majority in your jurisdiction)
  • Have the legal capacity to enter into a binding contract under applicable law
  • Not have been previously suspended, banned, or removed from the Platform
  • Provide accurate, current, and truthful registration information
  • Not be located in a country subject to applicable trade sanctions or embargoes

Banzaar is not directed at, and may not be used by, anyone under 18. Under Nigeria's Data Protection Act and Child's Rights Act, a person under 18 is legally a child and generally cannot hold a wallet, receive payouts, or enter into the contracts this Platform requires. If we become aware that someone under 18 has registered, we will terminate that account and delete the associated data.

3. Account registration & responsibilities

3.1 Registration data

When you register, you provide:

  • Full name (first and last name), email address, and password
  • Phone number (optional), username (optional)
  • Country, state, timezone, and language preference
  • Device information (device type, device name) and IP address at time of sign-up
  • The information needed to send push notifications to your device, if you enable them

Your account can be created via email/password, Google Sign-In, or Apple Sign-In.

3.2 Account verification

  • Your account is inactive until you verify your email address via the link sent to you at registration.
  • You may additionally verify your phone number via a one-time code (OTP).
  • Certain Platform features are restricted to fully verified accounts.

3.3 Account security

  • You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials.
  • You must not share your account with any other person.
  • You must notify Banzaar immediately if you suspect unauthorized access.
  • You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.
  • Banzaar is not liable for losses arising from unauthorized use of your account due to your failure to keep credentials secure.

3.4 Username & identity

  • Usernames must be unique; username change history is logged for security purposes.
  • You may not use a username that impersonates another person, business, or brand.
  • Banzaar reserves the right to reclaim or modify usernames that violate these Terms.

3.5 One account per person

You may hold only one personal account. Banzaar reserves the right to merge or close duplicate accounts without notice.

4. Vendor accounts & business registration

4.1 Business setup

Vendors must register a Business Account and provide:

  • Business name, unique business username, business email, and business phone number
  • Business description, logo, and cover image
  • Physical business address, city, state, country, and GPS coordinates
  • Operating hours / schedule
  • Offering type: Retail, Wholesale, or Both

4.2 Business verification (KYC)

  • All vendors are required to complete Know Your Customer (KYC) verification before selling.
  • Your business will be under review until approved by Banzaar.
  • Banzaar reserves the right to approve, reject, or suspend any business account at its sole discretion.
  • Rejection reasons will be communicated to your registered business email.
  • Re-submission of KYC is allowed after corrections are made.

4.3 Bank account & payout information

To receive payouts, Vendors must provide:

  • Bank account number and bank code
  • Your account name, verified through your selected payment partner (Paystack, Monnify, or Flutterwave)

Your selected payment provider issues an internal reference for your account, which we store to enable future payouts. This banking information is shared only with your selected payment processor and used solely for settlement purposes.

4.4 Payment provider selection

Vendors must choose one of the following providers for receiving payouts:

  • Paystack
  • Monnify
  • Flutterwave

Each provider's terms of service apply to transactions processed through them. Banzaar is not responsible for disputes between vendors and payment providers.

4.5 Subscription & commission

  • Vendors operate under either a commission-based or flat-fee subscription model.
  • Applicable fees, commission rates, and settlement timelines are disclosed at time of business registration and may be updated with 30 days' notice.

4.6 Multi-branch & employee management

  • Vendors may create multiple business branches, each with a name, address, and GPS coordinates.
  • Vendors may invite employees by email, including users not yet registered on Banzaar.
  • Employees are assigned roles with specific permissions within the business account.
  • The vendor (business owner) is responsible for all actions taken by their employees on the Platform.
  • Employee invitation links expire after a defined period.

5. Listings & product content

5.1 Listing submission

Vendors create listings by submitting:

  • Product name, description, price, quantity, category, tags, and attributes
  • Product images (uploaded and hosted on our media storage service)
  • Product variants, each with its own price and stock quantity, if the product comes in different sizes, colours, or options

5.2 Listing moderation

All listings go through the following review flow:

All listings are saved as drafts, then submitted for review. Once reviewed, a listing is either approved and published, or rejected with a reason provided to the vendor.

Banzaar reserves the right to reject or remove any listing that:

  • Violates applicable law or regulation
  • Infringes third-party intellectual property rights
  • Contains false, misleading, or deceptive content
  • Features prohibited, counterfeit, dangerous, or restricted goods or services

Repeated violations may result in account suspension or permanent ban.

5.3 Prohibited items

You may not list, sell, or facilitate the sale of:

  • Counterfeit or stolen goods
  • Illegal firearms, weapons, or explosives
  • Controlled substances or drug paraphernalia
  • Human beings, body parts, or organs
  • Malware, hacking tools, or unlicensed software
  • Items that infringe on intellectual property rights
  • Adult or explicit content unless explicitly authorized
  • Any other items prohibited by applicable law

5.4 Listing snapshots

At the time a buyer adds an item to their cart or completes a purchase, a full snapshot of the listing (name, price, images, attributes, variants) is stored within the order record. This preserves order history accuracy even if the listing is later edited or removed.

5.5 Vendor accuracy & responsibility

  • Vendors are solely responsible for the accuracy, legality, and quality of their listings.
  • Listing a product on Banzaar does not constitute Banzaar's endorsement of that product.
  • Vendors must honor prices displayed on approved listings.

6. Orders & transactions

6.1 Order placement

When a buyer places an order:

  • A cart snapshot is created containing listing details at time of purchase
  • An order record is created with full line-item detail, payment method, and shipping information
  • The order moves through stages: awaiting payment, paid, accepted by the vendor, ready for pickup or in transit, and finally delivered.

6.2 Payment methods

Buyers may pay using:

  • Wallet (Banzaar in-app wallet)
  • Online Payment (via payment provider)
  • Cash (offline orders)
  • Bank Transfer
  • POS Terminal

6.3 Order acceptance

  • Vendors must accept or reject an order within the timeframe specified in Platform guidelines.
  • Failure to respond within the required window may result in automatic cancellation.

6.4 Order cancellations

  • Buyers may cancel orders before the vendor accepts, subject to Platform policy.
  • Vendors may cancel orders citing a documented reason.
  • Cancellation reasons are logged along with who initiated the cancellation (buyer or vendor).
  • Refund eligibility depends on the order status at the time of cancellation (see Payments, wallet & fees).

6.5 Order inspection & dispute window

Upon delivery, buyers are required to inspect their order immediately at the point of arrival.

  • Any dispute — including wrong item, damaged item, or item significantly not as described — must be reported through the Platform within 24 hours of delivery.
  • Failure to raise a dispute within 24 hours constitutes acceptance of the order in its delivered condition. Once accepted, the order is considered complete and no refund claim can be raised.
  • Reports are reviewed by Banzaar admin staff, who will contact both parties and investigate.
  • Banzaar's resolution decision is final for all disputes raised on the Platform.

Note: Disputes raised via phone call, email, or chat outside the Platform are not binding until formally submitted through the app.

6.6 Offline orders

For in-person / offline transactions, vendors may record orders with customer details and private merchant notes. Banzaar is not liable for disputes arising from purely offline transactions.

7. Payments, wallet & fees

7.1 Banzaar wallet

  • All registered users have an in-app wallet with a balance (current, available, unconfirmed), status, and assigned currency.
  • Multiple wallets may exist per user across different supported countries/currencies.

7.2 Wallet deposits

  • Funds can be deposited into your wallet via the supported payment providers (Paystack, Monnify, Flutterwave).
  • Each deposit is tracked so we can trace it back to the payment provider if there's an issue.
  • Failed deposits are logged and may be retried per Platform rules.

7.3 Vendor payouts / withdrawals

  • Vendors may withdraw available wallet balance to their registered bank account.
  • Withdrawals are subject to minimum thresholds, processing fees, and settlement timelines disclosed at time of setup.
  • Withdrawals are processed and settled within the timelines communicated in your vendor dashboard.
  • Failed withdrawals are investigated and resolved within Banzaar's standard support SLA.

7.4 Platform fees

  • Banzaar charges a service fee on transactions, reflected in order grand totals.
  • Commission or flat fees are deducted from vendor payouts per your subscription model.
  • Fee schedules are available in your vendor dashboard and may be updated with 30 days' notice.

7.5 Payment release to vendor

When an order is marked as delivered, payment is not released to the vendor immediately. Banzaar holds the payment in escrow for 24 hours to allow the buyer to inspect the order and raise any dispute.

  • If no dispute is raised within 24 hours of delivery, the order is considered accepted and payment is automatically released to the vendor. Once released, no refund claim can be raised.
  • If a dispute is raised within the 24-hour window, payment remains held in escrow until Banzaar admin resolves the dispute.
  • Vendors are not entitled to access held funds during an active dispute.

7.6 Refunds

7.6.1 Refund eligibility

  • A refund can only be initiated by Banzaar admin following a dispute report submitted by the buyer within 24 hours of delivery (see Section 6.5 above).
  • Buyers do not trigger refunds directly — they report a problem, admin investigates, and admin decides whether a refund is warranted.
  • Refunds will not be processed for disputes raised after the 24-hour window under any circumstances, unless Banzaar determines there is clear evidence of fraud or gross misrepresentation.

7.6.2 Non-refundable fees

The following are never refunded under any circumstances, regardless of fault:

  • Banzaar service fee / commission — retained by Banzaar for platform services rendered
  • Transaction fee — charged by the payment processor and already remitted; not recoverable

7.6.3 Delivery fee

The delivery fee is not automatically refunded. Its treatment depends on fault:

ScenarioDelivery fee
Vendor at faultRefunded to buyer — deducted from vendor's wallet
Buyer at faultNot refunded — buyer absorbs the cost

The courier has already been paid regardless of the outcome. When the delivery fee is refunded due to vendor fault, Banzaar debits the exact delivery fee amount from the vendor's wallet balance and credits it to the buyer's wallet. Banzaar does not absorb this cost.

7.6.4 Fault determination

Fault is determined solely by Banzaar admin based on available evidence including photographs, chat logs, order records, and statements from both parties. The admin's decision is final and binding.

Vendor is at fault when:

  • The wrong item was sent
  • The item is significantly not as described in the listing
  • The item was damaged due to poor packaging by the vendor

Buyer is at fault when:

  • The buyer changed their mind after delivery
  • The buyer ordered the wrong size, colour, or variant
  • The item matches the listing description and arrived in good condition

7.6.6 Return shipping

If the vendor is at fault:

  • The vendor is responsible for arranging and bearing the cost of return pickup from the buyer.
  • If the buyer requests a replacement instead of a refund, the vendor also bears the cost of redelivery.
  • Failure to cooperate with return pickup is a platform violation and may result in account suspension.

If the buyer is at fault:

  • The buyer is responsible for arranging and bearing the cost of return shipping back to the vendor.
  • The refund is only processed after the vendor confirms receipt of the item in its original condition.
  • Items returned damaged, used, or incomplete will not qualify for a refund.

7.6.7 Vendor obligations

  • Vendors cannot refuse a refund that has been approved by Banzaar admin.
  • Refusing or ignoring an admin-approved refund constitutes a breach of these Terms and may result in forced wallet deduction, account suspension, or permanent ban.

7.6.8 Refund processing

  • Approved refunds are credited to the buyer's Banzaar wallet.
  • Refund processing may take up to 5 business days after admin approval.
  • Banzaar does not refund to external bank accounts or payment cards directly — all refunds go to the wallet.

7.7 Duplicate transaction protection

All payment and order operations are protected against duplicate charges. If a transaction fails, do not submit a new payment immediately — check your transaction history or contact support before retrying.

8. Shipping & delivery

8.1 Shipping addresses

Buyers may save multiple shipping addresses containing: street address, city, postal code, country, state, GPS coordinates, and a delivery contact phone number. A default address can be designated.

8.2 Shipping partners

Banzaar integrates with third-party shipping companies and couriers. When an order is shipped, we generate a tracking link and a delivery confirmation code that the courier uses to confirm the parcel has reached you.

Banzaar is not responsible for delays, damage, or losses caused by third-party shipping partners.

8.3 Vendor shipping responsibility

Vendors are responsible for:

  • Packaging products securely and accurately
  • Providing correct pickup-point information
  • Marking orders as dispatched once handed to the courier
  • Resolving shipping-related complaints promptly

8.4 Free shipping & promotions

Free shipping may be offered by vendors via promotions. Banzaar does not subsidize shipping costs unless explicitly stated in a Platform-wide promotion.

8.5 Return shipping

  • Return shipping is not arranged by Banzaar. It is the responsibility of the party determined to be at fault (see Payments, wallet & fees).
  • The buyer and vendor are expected to coordinate return logistics. Evidence of return (tracking number or waybill) may be required by admin before a refund is approved.
  • Banzaar is not liable for items lost or damaged during return transit.
  • Vendors must confirm receipt of a returned item on the Platform within 5 business days of the buyer dispatching it. Failure to do so may result in admin approving the refund without vendor confirmation.

9. AI features & credits

9.1 AI-powered content generation

Banzaar provides AI tools to help vendors generate product and business descriptions, social captions, and listing titles.

When you use AI generation, you provide:

  • Product name, category, features, location context, and language preference

No personally identifiable information is sent to the AI service. Only product and business context is processed.

9.2 AI credits

  • AI features consume credits from your AI Wallet.
  • Credits are purchased via credit packages (price and availability vary by country).
  • AI credits are non-refundable once consumed.
  • Credit consumption is recorded in a ledger per feature used.

9.3 Your responsibility for AI content

  • You are fully responsible for reviewing, editing, and approving any AI-generated content before publishing.
  • Banzaar does not guarantee the accuracy, originality, or legal compliance of AI-generated content.
  • Publishing AI-generated content that infringes third-party rights remains your liability.

12.2 What we store

  • Your username, display name, and profile picture from that platform

You may disconnect social integrations at any time from your account settings. Upon disconnection, your stored access details for that platform are invalidated and removed.

13. Coupons, promotions & loyalty rewards

13.1 Coupons

  • Vendors may create coupon codes (max 5 characters) with a fixed or percentage discount.
  • Coupons have defined usage limits, minimum purchase requirements, and validity periods.

  • Cashback is credited to the buyer's wallet after order completion.
  • Cashback rates, eligibility, and monthly spend thresholds vary by country.

14. Reviews, comments & community standards

  • Buyers may leave a rating (1–5) and comment on a business account, optionally linked to an order.
